Dwell upon your sins.
Always remember one thing:
you're only human.
Although I don't consider myself to be religious at this point in my life, I still find value in some of the practices I grew up with as a Catholic. In this case, the Lenten season has been going for a few weeks now.
The Lenten season's primary focus is based around Jesus's forty-day trials in the desert, where he was tempted by Satan. This season serves as a reminder to Catholics that we are all sinners, that we are all imperfect, and that there are many blessings we take for granted.
Now, from my own point of view, I take the opportunity during this season to focus on the ideas of sin and imperfection as they apply to my own life. I think about how I carry with me the capacity for harm to myself and others, and acknowledge that these are aspects of my life. I then move to try and better myself in what ways I can, recognizing my own limits.

And this is a haiku expressing just that. Long, philosophical explanation, I know, but I thought it was worth it. ^^

Hope you like it!
